David Riley- Owner, Dance Instructor  

David started La Puerta with his wife Nealy in May of 2009.  He has been teaching Ballroom Dancing professionally for 8 years and has competed with many students in Pro/Am events in the Midwest.

David moved to Grand Junction in December of 2008 and has since made it his goal to help develop a strong dance community for the area.  

When David isn't dancing, he's painting and has recently completed illustrating a children's book for Lerner Publishing.  Please visit the links page to see his illustration and gallery art.




Nealy May Riley- Owner, Dance Instructor

Nealy grew up dancing, studying tap, ballet and jazz in her youth.  She now specializes in teaching American Smooth and Rhythm Ballroom Dancing and competes with students in Pro/Am competitions around the U.S..

Her fun and energetic teaching style makes learning to dance easy and enjoyable for any level.

Nealy earned a Master's Degree in Art from the Savannah College of Art and Design and also works professionally as a graphic designer and illustrator. Her art website is available on the links page.




Ryan Reynolds- Dance Instructor, Competition Coach

Ryan teaches International Latin as well as American Smooth and Rhythm.  He has been dancing Ballroom for 8 years and has extensive training with numerous coaches including but not limited to Michael Wentink, Jonathon and Anna Roberts (from "Dancing with the Stars") and Jose Decamps. 

Ryan is also trained in other styles of dance such as Hip Hop and Pop and Lock.  He has competed professionally in International Latin throughout the United States.

Ryan relocated to Grand Junction from California with his family in 2006.  He frequently hosts and teaches the lesson for La Puerta's Wednesday Night Dance Party.
